Problem Gambling Therapy at Level Ground

 

Liz Karter’s experience has shown her that for many women who gamble to excess, they do so as a form of escapism from problems in day to day life or sometimes from thoughts and feelings relating to past troubling life events. Level Ground Therapy therefore understands that as well as wanting to address your gambling problem there may be other sensitive issues which you may wish to resolve.

Level Ground Therapy offers therapeutic programmes which enable you to work at your own pace with an experienced specialist as you to work toward becoming free of problem gambling. We are able to help you to identify the reasons you began to gamble problematically and offer you therapeutic support through any life adjustments you might wish to make to lead a more fulfilling life free from problem gambling.

One to One Therapy

Individual sessions are typically once weekly for 60 minutes each.

As well as face to face counselling and therapy Level ground Therapy also offers telephone, email and Skype therapy sessions.

Group Therapy

Five years ago Liz Karter established for other leading agencies in the UK the first therapeutic groups exclusively for women who had gambling problems. Liz now facilitates Women’s Groups at Level Ground Therapy offering:

• Weekly meeting of 90 minutes each.
  
  
• Small Groups with maximum of 7 members per group. Regular weekly attendance is required where possible throughout the time you wish to be a Group member.
  
  
• Group offers the opportunity to meet in a safe confidential space to discuss your gambling problem and gain support from others in similar situations. Many Group Members find as trust and confidence grows, it is a great place to discuss and gain support with general life issues too. It is an opportunity to develop healthier and more productive ways of relating with others to then take into life outside of Group.
